PRESIDENT'S LUNCH 2021

The President's Lunch 2021, hosted by HRH, The Princess Royal, was held on 27th October 2021 at Admiral's House, The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich.

Prior to lunch, members and guests were given a guided tour of the Painted Hall, being one of the most spectacular Baroque interiors in Europe. 

​

The epic painting scheme, known as ‘Britain’s Sistine Chapel’ took nineteen years from the start of the commission to its completion in 1726. By turns extravagant, playful, thoughtful, naïve and politically shrewd, Sir James Thornhill’s scheme earned him a knighthood and payment of £6,685.
